Western chart wheel

The usual wheel — Ascendant on the left, longitude counterclockwise — for the birth details the landing uses as its example. What a flat wheel throws away is that it is a picture of a sky: the Ascendant–Descendant axis on it is a horizon. So every planet sits at the altitude it actually held. This chart was cast at 04:20, which is why the Sun hangs 29° beneath the board and the Moon rides 31° above it.
